For everybody mocking the weather people and their hyperboles, this is pretty real. I drove through the storm last night on the way home from a meeting at Magnuson Park: no streetlights, no traffic lights, pitch dark roads along the lake, then those intersections where suddenly you have to rely on human courtesy, and a last minute detour for fallen trees. Exhilarating MadMax tour for my little Toyota ‘88.

No power until they say so, either 24 hours or three days, we don’t know. I’m grateful to have a gas stove that makes tea in the city of rain that thinks we should all go solar. Precious Earl Grey by flash light:))) It’s a consciousness jolt to realize how hard it is to function without light, electricity or heat. After yard management and filling the side of the house with bags of branches I have escaped to where the energy grid is up at my favorite Italian dive. Nothing says unconditional love quite like a lumpy red booth, burnt lasagna and iceberg lettuce. ❤️happy❤️

Proofing! This new Canon Pro1000, which I have been getting used to for several months, is an incredible machine. It has its quirks, but unlike the Epson if paper is stuck the machine quietly and politely nudges you. No shrinking and grinding of gears, no “call service Bureau send your machine back and you are so f___d.” I think I have post traumatic printer stress from the Epson 3880. Just beginning to accept that maybe printing could be a pleasure?

The power of multiples! Here in my little handcrafted stationary factory, where every card is printed by hand on fine rag paper by yours truly, I am here to say it is a perfectionist’s heaven and hell, but when you get it right, oh my God, there’s nothing better than getting it right. I am soooo excited about the new England print series. Everything will be up on my shop by end of day, which you can find in a link in bio iskrafineart. The new imprint is ©️Elusionary Landscapes.
